Pseudorandom vs. True Random

For cryptographic security (passwords, encryption keys), true random number generators that rely on physical phenomena (atmospheric noise, radioactive decay) are preferred. A Stanford study found that a vigorously flipped coin has about a 51% chance of landing on the same side it started on, though this bias is negligible for practical purposes.
